The California International Marathon is owned and managed by the Sacramento Running Association (SRA), a not for profit 501 (c) (3) organization. From its inception, the Sacramento Running Association agreed that proceeds from the CIM and other SRA events should benefit the running community. This is quite unique among running events, since many of them are either for profit events or they benefit disease-related or cause-related organizations. The CIM Board believes it is essential to promote and support running, because as the running community grows, the overall health and well-being of our community improves.
