Marathon finish of which you are most proud: All of them really, but mainly the ones I have not had to go to the medical tent afterwards!
Number of ultra marathons completed: 35+ including seven 100-milers (5 Western States, 1 Tahoe Rim and 1 Leadville)
Ultra marathon awards: 12 awards for age groups including a 7:53 PR at American River 50 and five 100-miler finisher buckles.
Event finish of which you are most proud and why: 2009 Ironman Cozumel. An amazing experience that reconfirmed the body is an amazing machine. I smiled for 140.6 miles! Having had a fear of the open water I learned that the fear was only in my mind and you can do what you set your mind out to do! Could not have done it with the support of some great friends!

Event most proud of and why: Completing my first 100M in 2004. Rio Del Lago. The distance intimidated me. I learned that we can do anything with a positive mental attitude (and some very good support along the way).
Other running activities: Co-founder and host of the popular podcast Trail Runner Nation. A podcast that invites experts within the endurance running community to discuss nutrition, training plans, injury management, racing strategies and a myriad of critical running topics.
